Sourcing & Localisation
As a complete partner to our Customers, our sourcing department has built up a broad network of suppliers for a huge variety of products that are produced to high quality. As we are positioned in the middle of the Yangtze River Delta, most of our suppliers are located in the surrounding area, which enables us to quickly respond to any issues that might arise. We know it is hard to procure from Sweden in China, therefore we offer advice on how to make specifications or drawings so that the finished product is what the customer expects. For new products, we offer advice and product reviews so that the product is designed for production here in China. We also give suggestions on localizing material, tolerances and method.
Before a supplier is introduced into our supplier network, we make a two-step evaluation based on its capabilities and potential, then our Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) conducts inspections on site for further evaluation.
A supplier can only receive drawings or specifications after it has passed the evaluations and signed a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Exir. The drawings and specifications are all sent through our document control system, which logs the revisions, date and the sender. This to ensure that the supplier always has the latest drawings and most importantly, that our customer’s intellectual properties are protected.
Production
In our modern production facilities we check, assemble and test our customers products to their expected functionality and quality. Exir China has extensive experience from producing European products in China for different markets and within different industries. With this in-depth manufacturing knowledge on how to produce, optimize and successfully launch your products, we strive for a seamless partnership with our customers. Exir China should be considered as our customers ’ Chinese production facility and employees. Walking into our facilities should be like walking in to your regular Swedish factory, but with Chinese workers.
The permanent Swedish management in place in the factory is able to bridge the usual difficulties such as language and cultural barriers. The Swedish management also ensures a work environment so that our co-workers better understand our customers’ expectations and mindsets.
During production, IQA (Incoming Quality Assurance) is a natural part in our quality assurance, and to ensure the quality of the complete product we have on-line inspections to check the production and the product during operations to avoid unnecessary disturbances.
The final product is then tested to check that it fulfills our partners’ functional requirements. We develop the test-system in house so that the results and the performance data are collected and stored in our own database.
Product Design
In our facilities in Wuxi, China, we are helping our Partners with different levels of Product Development and Design. Our services can include everything from developing an improved version of a current product all the way to designing a black box solution (completely new design from a given specification). We also have the capability to help our customers with Product Care such as Engineering Changes (ECNs) and its implementation and verification. The engineers at Exir can design or adjust the product according to local conditions and based on the most common, and therefore most cost efficient, method of manufacturing the products. Currently we are working in a SolidWorks environment; however, our engineers are of course knowledgeable in other programs. To ensure the performance, we can offer evaluation of the products with own staff in the factory or when required, we have a number of partner institutes that can help us with verification.
